Korean War bonus applications from beneficiaries of deceased veterans, 1959-1967.

Korean War bonus payment beneficiary applications submitted to the Illinois Veterans' Commission are arranged numerically by claim number. Each bonus application includes claim number; deceased veteran name as shown on service record; service serial number; service branch; veteran's address at service entry; active duty entrance date; rank and service branch at death or discharge; local draft board number and address (if Selective Service draftee); death or discharge date; death date after discharge; Illinois residency status (i.e., twelve months prior to service entry); address at service entry; persons veteran resided with; beneficiary claim applicant name, address and relationship to veteran; Korean War bonus eligibility in other states; applicant signature; and application receipt date. Each case file also contains supporting documents such as birth, marriage, discharge, and death certificates; and correspondence with claimant. Commission action on claim also is noted.
